Often, an automobile represents a major financial expense. It represents freedom of movement by extending the range of mobility as well as freedom against time restrictions. It is an extension of one’s home in terms of relative security. It is also an extension of one’s life as it is usually involved in most major events that occur in one’s life. It is also an extension of one’s personal style by the level of customization given to it.

Customization can be for two major purposes. The first is functional customization where the car accessories used enhance the performance of the car or truck. Usually, this is done for some event like street or drag racing, although there are some who just want a better performing and/or safer car. Things like internal roll bars and bracing help make the car or truck safer. Engine accessories, like advanced timing computers, turbochargers and exhaust headers, actual help the engine produce more power. This increases speed or load capacity. Wide wheel tires apply better road grip and helps turning performance and the Mag-wheel rims that hold them can also be stylish. This brings us to the second purpose of customization which is for show. Accessories, like chrome steel grills and bumpers, help put an attractive and clean quality to the car. Headlight upgrades give a flashy modern look. Interior upgrades like non-slip steering custom wheels help give better control of the car to the driver and looks good at the same time. Dash board upgrades dress up the interior to impress passengers. Even little things like floor mats help give a better impression. Note that car accessories need a good look even for casual car owners. After all, daily wear and tear will eventually wear out the current attachments. Thus, since replacement is necessary anyway, why not spend a little in car accessories that give the same function with a little added style.
